You can improve your golf game with this unconventional tool in a vastly more efficient way.

These days golf pros have been hitting the ball and gaining serious yardage with precision accuracy. Most weekend warriors won’t hit the ball for the same type of numbers.

Realistically, there is a lot at play here, but it comes down to specialized training. The golf pro is a pro for a reason. Aside from the gift of ability, they put in serious training time. The average golfer doesn’t have time to weight train just for golf, or do they? Yes, they do and here is how, the steel mace!

Muscle groups of the upper and lower body require weight training to make some improvement. There are several muscle groups used when golfers swing their club.

The steel mace will help the average golfer develop strength, targeting those applied muscles.

This tool, for this purpose, is the most dynamic and least time consuming way to train these muscle groups not only simultaneously but specifically.

The Muscle Groups Involved

It turns out that the groups of muscles used in swinging a golf club happen to be the same muscles used when we swing the mace. In fact, I found the comparisons to be overwhelming. Let’s take a look at this breakdown of the muscle groups and the function they serve during a golf swing.

Core Muscles

They act as both rotational and anti-rotational stabilizers that remain strong and flexible and allow the golfer coil up and come back into the ball.

Shoulder

These muscles are relied upon to generate speed and keep the club on the correct plane.

Upper Back

With some help from the shoulders, these muscles help control the path of the swing throughout the entire swing.

Lower body

Your quads and hamstrings work along with the hips to help anchor you and generate yet more power through hip rotation.

Triceps

Help transfers power from your body to your arms as the elbow straightens to add club head speed.

Grip and Wrist Muscles

An important asset in mace swing and for the same reasons as in golf, hand and wrist strength is important for hand position during big drives and when a golfer needs to fight out of the heavy stuff.

All of these muscles serve a critical role in the execution of a powerful and controlled golf swing. This is why the steel mace is the ideal tool to improve your game.

Direct training using compound movements to strengthen these muscle groups is the secret to a better swing. Learning the 360° is great place to start improving your golf swing and keeping your swinging muscles healthy.
